Program Description

Freedom Horses, LLC is located at the Flying L Ranch in Ashland, Oregon. The business is an equine-assisted psychotherapy program. Our horses assist with the psychological therapy of clients attending sessions at the Ranch. We plan to offer our services to at-risk children, ages four to eighteen, and adults struggling with issues of social adjustment including, but not limited to issues of attachment, empathy, depression, addiction and trauma. We define “at-risk” as children, who are experiencing difficulty in their home, community or school life in danger of becoming disjointed from their family, their community and society in general. Our target adult clients are also those struggling to function effectively to fulfill their primary roles and responsibilities. Both populations can benefit from the outdoor environment by developing skills and abilities learned through equine assisted therapy. As we grow, we plan to expand services to include US veterans of war.
